On the occasion of Father’s Day, filmmaker Karan Johar shared a heartfelt and deeply emotional note on social media, offering an honest look into his journey as a single parent. The proud father of twins Yash and Roohi, who were born via surrogacy in 2017, described the decision to become a parent as life-altering.“Some decisions are impulsive…”Sharing an adorable snap with Yash and Roohi, the ace director wrote, “Some decisions are impulsive, some decisions are strategised and some are just blessed…. My decision to be a single parent has been the single most emotionally satisfying decision I could have ever made… the answer to my every prayer to the universe….”
‘There are no rules for parenting’
In his message, Karan emphasized how parenting advice came in many forms—from books and podcasts to well-meaning conversations—but ultimately, he believes that instinct is a parent’s best guide.“I was told to read books, listen to podcasts and to speak to other parents for help and guidance… and while I truly appreciate all the good intentions of generous advice, I feel each journey of a parent (more so a single parent) is truly unique and needs to be dealt with on your personal instinct… there are no rules for parenting, there are just instincts that guide me everyday…,” wrote Karan Johar.
He openly acknowledged the emotional ups and downs of being a parent and admitted that he isn’t perfect as he wrote, “I know I will falter, fumble and fall… But the abundant love always makes me eventually rise…”
‘They filled a deep void’
Concluding his note, the director expressed gratitude for his children, calling them his “blessings” who transformed his life.“Today I celebrate myself… for completing my own half existence with the presence of my blessings Roohi and Yash… they filled a deep void and created some more space for love in my aura and heart…”The note, shared with the hashtag #happyfathersday, has been met with admiration from fans and fellow celebrities alike.On the work front, Karan Johar’s most recent directorial venture was the romantic film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
