KL Rahul continues to leave his mark in overseas Test cricket. On Day 1 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, the stylish right-hander entered an exclusive club by completing 1000 Test runs in England. The 33-year-old’s standout moment came in the 2021 series, where he struck a majestic century at Lord’s and played several crucial innings at the top of the order.In the ongoing series, he has piled on 375 runs across three Tests including centuries at Lord’s and Headingley. He also scored a fifty at Edgbaston in India’s solitary win on the tour.Earlier, England won the toss and chose to bowl against India, with the Shubman Gill-led side sticking with premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah amid fitness concerns in the camp.India made three changes to their lineup following their 22-run defeat at Lord’s. Sai Sudharsan replaced Karun Nair, while Shardul Thakur and debutant Anshul Kamboj came in for injured pacemen Nitish Kumar Reddy and Akash Deep.Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was cleared to play after recovering from a finger injury.
