The last 48 hours have been nothing short of a whirlwind for Anshul Kamboj, India’s newest Test cricketer. The 24-year-old seamer from Haryana made his much-anticipated debut in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, becoming India’s 318th Test player. Receiving his cap from former India wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta, Kamboj described the moment as “unreal” and beyond words.“It’s such a good feeling that I can’t even explain it, I don’t know how to express it in words. Kumble made his Test debut in Manchester back in 1990, and like Kumble, Kamboj also has a 10-wicket haul, a rare feat for any bowler.On the opening day, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and chose to bowl first, looking to extend England’s 2-1 lead in the series. India made three changes to their XI, with Sai Sudharsan, Shardul Thakur, and Kamboj coming in for Karun, Akash Deep, and Reddy.The stage is now set for Kamboj to make his mark, as India look to fight back and level the series.
