The actor recalled his father’s strict approach to parenting and shared how he and his brother, Faissal Khan, used to receive punishment from their father. “When he would backhand me and Faissal, his ring would leave a mark on our faces. (How can you do this, Aamir?) That was her maximum daant (scolding), she’s very soft,” he added.Aamir credited his mother for shaping his emotional awareness and social sensibilities. “I think whatever I am today is because of my mother. She has been a very big influence on me; she’s very sensitive. I think she’s very intelligent emotionally. I’ve learnt that from her,” he stated.The ‘PK’ actor revealed that after winning a tennis tournament at age 11, his mother’s concern for the feelings of the losing player and his family made him reflect deeply. That moment left him feeling guilty and helped nurture his sensitivity towards social issues.
