Vishnu Manchu, Prabhas and Akshay Kumar’s Kannappa hits US $ 25,000 advance sales in North America
Vishnu Manchu’s mythological action film Kannappa has started modestly in North America, earning $25,000 in advance sales. A surge in interest occurred just before the premiere, doubling ticket sales in 24 hours. While not a blockbuster opening, it’s Vishnu Manchu’s biggest in North America, fueled by the film’s unique theme, visual effects, and star-studded cast.

Vishnu Manchu’s much-anticipated mythological action epic Kannappa is off to a slow start in contrast to most Telugu film in the North American market. Though looking at the final advance ticket sales numbers , one does spot a significant surge in interest just ahead of the premiere. As per the latest data, the film has registered $23,193 in advance ticket sales across 298 locations in the United States of America, with 577 premiere shows and 1,113 tickets sold while the overall North America numbers stands at US $ 25,000.

These figures represent a notable uptick from the data reported just a day earlier. On the previous day (2 days before the premiere), Kannappa had logged $10,376 in sales across 263 locations, with 504 scheduled shows and 486 tickets sold in US alone. In just 24 hours, the film added nearly $13,000 in gross, 35 more locations, 73 more shows, and more than doubled its ticket count — a sign of growing momentum and positive word-of-mouth buzz building closer to the premiere. While the numbers may seem modest compared to major Bollywood or pan-Indian blockbuster premieres, this is a respectable start for a devotional action film, especially one centered on Lord Shiva’s ardent devotee Kannappa — a relatively rare subject in contemporary Telugu cinema.Though looking at the history of actor producer Vishnu Manchu’s box office record in the North American circuit, it is the biggest opening for him. The uptick in sales reflects heightened curiosity around the film’s unique mythological theme, visual scale, and ensemble cast featuring Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, and other special appearances like Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Agarwal and many more. The film’s spiritual angle, VFX-heavy presentation, and positive pre-release buzz seem to be drawing in both Telugu-speaking audiences and broader Indian diaspora interested in culturally rooted content. With premiere shows scheduled across hundreds of locations and screens, the final box office numbers from the premiere night could offer a strong platform for Kannappa’s weekend run in the USA. If word of mouth remains favorable, the film could see exponential growth in its first few days, especially in stronghold markets like Texas, California, and New Jersey.
