Recent reports suggest that the upcoming movie’s digital rights have been sold for a hefty price.All language rights in the bagAccording to a report by Pinkvilla, the post-theatrical digital streaming rights of ‘Peddi’ have been acquired by Netflix for a staggering Rs 105 crore plus GST. This deal includes streaming rights in all languages, making it one of the biggest digital acquisitions for a Telugu film led by a solo male star.This deal sets a new record for Ram Charan, marking his highest OTT deal to date. The actor, who was last seen in ‘Game Changer,’ is now banking on ‘Peddi’ to make a strong comeback. With satellite, audio, and other non-theatrical rights expected to fetch an additional Rs 75 crore, the film is on track to recover a major chunk of its budget before even hitting theatres.Non-theatrical to cover production costThe report also suggests that the production cost of the film is likely to be covered completely through non-theatrical revenue alone. The theatrical share of the profits will be divided between the producers and Ram Charan based on a pre-agreed profit-sharing model, making this a well-structured and profitable deal even before release.About the movieApart from Ram Charan’s much-anticipated rural makeover, the movie also stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. This marks her second Telugu film after Jr NTR’s ‘Devara’. The movie also stars Kannada stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu Sharma in key roles. The movie is scheduled to be released in multiple languages on March 27.
