Veteran Bowman Gray racing legend Robbie Brewer has died after a devastating crash during Saturday night’s Sportsman Division race. With just four laps to go, Brewer lost control and slammed into the wall, prompting rescue crews to cut through his car’s roof to free him before rushing him to a nearby hospital. His family later confirmed his death, sending shockwaves through the racing world. Investigators suspect Brewer suffered a sudden heart attack in the cockpit that caused the collision. Over a 35-year career, Brewer became a track icon with more than 300 starts, multiple championships, and titles in the Sportsman, 602 Modified Tour, and Super Limited Series. As part of the close-knit Robbins & Lewis Racing family, he raced alongside Dylan Ward, Chase Lewis, and Brad Lewis, who posted a heartfelt tribute saying, “I gave my last fist bump to Robbie… he was my family, a true man’s man.”
