Kajol and Ajay Devgn tied the knot in February 1999 after a quiet relationship that had blossomed on film sets. Four years later, in April 2003, they welcomed their daughter Nysa. Over the years, Kajol and Ajay have balanced busy film careers with a close-knit family life.Kajol recently shared funny and sweet memories of her pregnancies and revealed how she and the ‘Singham’ actor have always managed family life together without sticking to old rules.‘We share responsibilities’The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actress said that in their house, there are no strict roles about who does what. Everything is shared. “I don’t think we ever functioned that way. We share responsibilities. If I’m there, I do things. If he’s there, he does it. It’s as simple as that,” she explained.

How do you feel about shared parenting responsibilities in a marriage?
When it comes to looking after the kids, Kajol is relieved that they’ve moved past the nappy stage. “The best thing is that our children don’t need to get their nappies changed anymore. Thank god for that (laughs),” she said. She then revealed something cheeky about Ajay. “When Nysa and Yug were babies, Ajay did change their nappies once or twice. He may tell you that he did it more than two times but I would’ve to disagree on that point.”Now that the kids are older, Kajol said life at home is a lot easier. “We’ve passed that stage and nobody needs to take that responsibility anymore. We’re good. Today, it’s more about supervision and talking to our children about their issues. It’s much easier to swap those roles around,” she shared.‘It was so precious’Kajol also took a moment to remember when she found out she was pregnant for the first time. In April 2003, she gave birth to Nysa. “I wasn’t surprised or overwhelmed,” she said. “It was so precious. It was one of those feelings where I wanted to touch wood all the time and make sure that everything goes perfectly well because what was happening was so awesome. I felt like the magic of the universe was within me.”‘Pretty much chill’ the second timeWhen she was pregnant with Yug, who was born in September 2010, Kajol said she was a lot calmer. “It was still amazing but I was calmer and cooler about it. I wasn’t upset or worried. I wasn’t calling up the doctor every two minutes to ask, ‘Oh god, this has happened! What do I do?’ I knew what was going to happen and where things were going. I was well-aware about how I would progress in the third and the fourth months. I had a lot more fun when I was pregnant for the second time,” Kajol said.Staying active helpedKajol also shared that working out during both her pregnancies kept her feeling normal and allowed her to enjoy the experience even more. She said that staying active gave her a huge boost and helped her remain part of the everyday world. Without doing her regular activities, she would have felt very detached, almost like the world was moving in one direction while she was on a completely different path. Kajol mentioned that her second pregnancy, in particular, helped her stay connected to normal life.
