FWICE, or the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, has been adamantly protesting against Diljit Dosanjh featuring in the upcoming film ‘Border 2.’ In the latest update, the organization has requested Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah to take back the permission that was given for the filming of the movie at the NDA (National Defence Academy). The singer’s recent controversy has caused a lot of backlash, with organizations and even celebrities calling Dosanjh out.

Diljit Dosanjh has been facing numerous allegations and has received a lot of backlash amidst his recent controversy. As tensions between India and Pakistan continue, the singer’s decision to work with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir for ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ has faced a lot of criticism from the public.The organization, as per reports from ANI, sent a formal letter to the ministers on June 25, requesting that they withdraw and remove any permission that has been given to the creators of ‘Border 2’ to shoot the film at the NDA grounds in Pune.The letter shared with the home ministers read, “We write to you with deep concern regarding the shooting permission reportedly granted to the production team of the film ‘Border 2’ at the National Defence Academy (NDA) premises in Pune.”“It is important to bring to your notice that the said film (Border 2) features actor Diljit Dosanjh, who has been officially boycotted by FWICE owing to his involvement with individuals and content that have deeply disrespected Indian sentiments, especially by associating with Pakistani artists known for their anti-India views and participating in projects filmed in sensitive border locations like Pahalgam immediately following terror incidents targeting our armed forces,” they continued in the letter.

‘Border 2’ features Diljit Dosanjh, alongside actors like Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan as well. Another letter was sent to T-Series Chairman Bhushan Kumar, director Imtiaz Ali, and actor-producer Sunny Deol on June 24 and 25 as well, citing that Dosanjh’s casting should be ‘thought over and reconsidered.’Amid the ‘Sardar Ji 3’ row, FWICE has officially boycotted the Punjabi singer and actor. In their reasoning, the organization has claimed that associating with a Pakistani actress has been disrespectful to “Indian sentiments,” following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
