Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Javier Bardem lit up New York City at the world premiere of F1: The Movie. Pitt, who plays a legendary 90s racer making a comeback, revealed the cast spent over a year embedded in real Formula 1 races. Performing their own driving scenes, sometimes at speeds of 180 mph, Pitt and Idris ditched stunt doubles. Still, Pitt dismissed comparisons to Tom Cruise’s death-defying feats, joking, “Tom’s off his meds. What we did was controlled.” Directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski, the film blends speed, stunts, and star power. Bardem admitted he feared for Pitt’s safety, but called him “fearless.” F1: The Movie hits theaters globally on June 27.
