A day after hitting a 52-ball century in the Youth ODIs against England U-19, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has sent a stern warning to his opponents as he now wants to hit a double ton in the next match. The 14-year-old scored the fastest century ever in the history of youth ODIs and scored 143 runs off 78 deliveries. But still he is not happy, and he wants to emulate what Shubman Gill did in the second Test at Edgbaston against England.“Mujhe pata nahi tha ki maine record create kiya hai 100 banana ke baad (I didn’t know that I had created a record after making 100),” Suryavanshi told BCCI.tv after setting a new record.“Mujhe humare jo team manager hai Ankit sir unhone bataya ki aaj maine ek record create kiya. (Our team manager Ankit sir told me that I have created a record today).”On the second day of the Edgbaston Test, the India U-19 team was watching the match from the stands when Team India captain Shubman Gill hammered a double ton.“Kaafi inspiration mila unse. Dekha maine game ko, 100 and 200 banane ke baad bhi unhone game chhoda nahi aur team ko aage le kar gaye (I got a lot of inspiration from him because I saw the game. Even after scoring 100 and 200, he kept at it and took the team forward),” Suryavanshi reflected.“Mere mind mein aaj wahi tha mai aur lamba kar sakta tha kyunki kaafi time tha mere paas. 20 overs aur baaki the, mai aur lamba khel sakta tha (I could have made it longer, it was in my mind because I had a lot of time. I had 20 overs left after that. I could have made that innings longer).“Ek shot tha jo mai 100% nahi de paaya iske wajah se mai out ho gaya, thoda mai aur try karta unke tarah lamba karu (There was a shot that I couldn’t give 100%, that’s why I got out. Otherwise, I would have tried like Shubman Gill to make it big).“Sabne congrats bola baaki toh abhi hotel ja ke pata chalega (Everyone congratulated me. The rest we will know after going to the hotel).

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, watches in awe as Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrates century

“Celebrate kuch nahi, jaise bas normal har game rehta hai waise hi hai, bas thoda khush hoon kyunki aaj maine team ke liye kuch acha kiya hai (No celebration, it was just like any other game. I am just a little happy because I did something good for the team).“Ghar pe baat karunga aur next match mein try karunga ki 200 karu (I will talk to my family and in the next match I will try to score 200).“Next time yahi try rahega ki full 50 overs khelu. Jitna mai run karunga utna team ko fayda hoga (Next time, I will try to play the full 50 overs. The more I score, the more the team will benefit).“Mai try karoonga ki next game mein mai pura khelne ka try karu, bas ispar focus hai (I will try to play the full game in the next match and that’s my focus).”India have won the five-match series 3-1 and the last game will be played on Monday.
