New XRING O1 silicon, self-developed by Xiaomi, brings next-generation performance and power efficiency to Xiaomi’s flagship mobile devices.

By Steve Raphael, Senior Director, Smartphone Segment Strategy and Go-to-Market, Arm

Since emerging 15 years ago, Xiaomi has rapidly evolved into a global technology leader with a broad product portfolio featuring smartphones, lifestyle tech, IoT devices, and, most recently, cars.

Across these products that serve hundreds of millions of users worldwide, Arm has been a close technology partner—from Xiaomi’s inaugural Mi 1 smartphone in 2011 to today’s modern smart home devices. The next step for Xiaomi on the company’s journey is XRING silicon.

    Introducing XRING O1 silicon

Xiaomi is focused on putting powerful, fast, intelligent devices in the hands of every user. A vital part of turning this commitment into reality is the silicon that enables Xiaomi to deliver advanced performance and power-efficient computing.

In their past collaborations, Arm and Xiaomi have worked together to optimize performance, power efficiency, and workloads on system-on-chip (SoC) in Xiaomi’s devices. With Xiaomi now developing its own silicon, it allows closer collaboration on the SoC design, pushing the boundaries of performance and providing more value to end users through immersive, intelligent experiences.

Created by Xiaomi’s silicon division, XRING, the XRING O1 is built with the latest Armv9.2 Cortex CPU cluster IP, Arm Immortalis GPU IP, and CoreLink Interconnect system IP. These standard IPs are optimized for the cutting-edge 3nm process.

With the XRING team’s excellent back-end and system-level design, the XRING O1 delivers fantastic performance and efficiency.

Targeting premium smartphone and tablet devices

The XRING O1 will debut in Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphones as well as the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablets. It delivers a combination of increased battery life, and superior performance, enabling immersive multimedia and high-end gaming experiences for the end user.

    Shaping smarter technology and experiences

Arm is proud to support Xiaomi on its mission to shape a smarter, more connected world through high-quality, accessible technology. The introduction of XRING O1 is a significant milestone for Xiaomi to deliver advanced technology innovation.

Together, we’ll keep pushing the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and scalability across smartphones, IoT, automotive, and beyond.
