When Shah Rukh Khan REACTED to Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra's marriage: 'Begani shaadi me abdullah deewaana...'
During the promotions of Zero, Shah Rukh Khan’s wit shone brightly when questioned about a Bollywood wedding trend sparked by Anushka Sharma’s marriage to Virat Kohli and upcoming weddings of Deepika-Ranveer and Priyanka-Nick. SRK humorously dismissed the idea, joking that weddings weren’t a new phenomenon and that he had already fulfilled his marital duties, leaving everyone in laughter.

In this unforgettable throwback moment from the promotions of Zero, Shah Rukh Khan once again proved why his wit is unmatched. With Anushka Sharma already married to Virat Kohli and the buzz around Deepika Padukone–Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas–Nick Jonas’s upcoming weddings, a reporter asked about Bollywood’s so-called wedding wave. What followed was SRK at his best—turning a simple question into a laugh-out-loud moment that had the entire room in splits.A reporter asked Anushka about starting the “wedding trend” in Bollywood, while also prompting her to send wishes to then soon-to-be-married couples Deepika Padukone–Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra–Nick Jonas. Before Anushka could respond, SRK jumped in with his signature wit, quipping, “Yeh trend na mere baap maa ne shuru kiya tha,” leaving the room in splits and reminding everyone why he’s the undisputed king of humour. The witty exchange had everyone, including Anushka, bursting into laughter. SRK then added to the moment by playfully dismissing the idea that Anushka had started any wedding trend in Bollywood. He joked that weddings have been happening for ages and it wasn’t as if everyone decided to tie the knot just because Anushka did—bringing yet another round of laughs with his signature humour. When the reporter pressed further, mentioning the upcoming weddings of Ranveer-Deepika and Priyanka-Nick, Shah Rukh Khan, in true SRK style, jumped in before Anushka could respond. With his trademark humour, he said that while it’s wonderful they’re all getting married and enjoying life, he’s already done everything he needed to—marriage included—and doesn’t see the need to keep doing it again and again. His witty take on the situation had everyone in splits, once again proving why he’s the king of clever comebacks. At the time of Zero’s release, Anushka Sharma had already tied the knot with cricketer Virat Kohli a year earlier. The question about weddings came up during the film’s promotions because Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, along with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, were all set to get married around the same time—sparking chatter about a so-called wedding wave in Bollywood.Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh is all set to shoot for King, which will also star his daughter, Suhana Khan, and Deepika Padukone. The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand.
