Urvashi Rautela strikes back at Diet Sabya: Clears the air on Cannes photoshoot controversy

Bollywood actor and former beauty queen Urvashi Rautela has broken her silence after facing online flak for allegedly obstructing a hotel stairway during a photoshoot at the Cannes Film Festival. Addressing the controversy head-on, Urvashi Rautela took to Instagram to hit back at the popular fashion watchdog page Diet Sabya, accusing them of spreading “baseless narratives” to bring her down. In a strongly-worded statement, she clarified that her team had obtained official permission to shoot at the location and slammed the anonymous page as a “paid troll” with no credibility. Her post, addressed to global fans and supporters, was both a defense of her actions and a broader call-out of online bullying.Urvashi Rautela defends her Cannes shoot, accuses Diet SabyaIn her post, Urvashi Rautela emphasized her respect for the Cannes Film Festival, stating that the photoshoot was carried out in accordance with event guidelines. She also accused Diet Sabya of targeting outsiders and attempting to diminish her achievements. Calling the page a “cheap imitation of Diet Prada,” she claimed it survives solely on negativity, often directed at individuals striving for global recognition. “My charisma, forged through relentless dedication and international acclaim, remains untouchable,” she wrote defiantly. Urvashi Rautela also urged her followers to block and report the page, asserting that no amount of trolling could dim her light.Viral video sparks backlashThe backlash against Urvashi Rautela erupted after Diet Sabya shared a video showing her posing in a gold cape gown on a hotel staircase at Cannes, apparently causing a bottleneck as other guests waited to pass. The clip, captioned “Not the first lady blocking everyone’s way for her photo op,” quickly went viral. While some supported her, many accused her of lacking basic courtesy. Urvashi Rautela’s luxurious outfit, a custom Joli Poli couture piece, may have dazzled onlookers, but it also drew criticism for overshadowing others’ convenience.Urvashi stays unapologeticDespite the noise, Urvashi Rautela remains unapologetically in the spotlight. She attended several screenings at Cannes this year in a personal capacity and continues to make headlines for her red-carpet appearances. The incident has reignited discussions about social media callouts and the boundaries of celebrity behavior. While Diet Sabya’s post fueled a storm of criticism, Urvashi Rautela’s fiery response may well shift the narrative in her favor. As she signs off with a pointed hashtag #paidtrolls, it’s clear that the star has no intention of backing down.
