Tom Holland is taking a temporary pause from filming the new Spider-Man movie, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”

The actor suffered a mild concussion and is on break from filming but is expected to return to work after a few days, ABC News has confirmed.

Holland is reprising his role as the Marvel superhero in the upcoming fourth installment of the film franchise. The 29-year-old has portrayed Spider-Man/Peter Parker since “Captain America: Civil War” in 2016 and most recently starred as the web-slinger in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is currently in production. Holland shared a production photo last month, showing himself in the superhero’s iconic costume. Sony Pictures also released a behind-the-scenes video in August, following Holland on set.

“It’s day one. My fourth-ever day one on ‘Spider-Man.’ It’s funny — putting the suit on — it feels different this time, somehow,” Holland said in the video. “It’s also the first time we ever had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them. We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just going to do my best, hopefully get it right, no pressure.”

Last October, Holland teased the “Brand New Day” storyline, calling the plot “crazy.”

“It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it,” Holland said in a “Good Morning America” interview at the time.

The action-adventure movie is expected to be released July 31, 2026.

Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News and “Good Morning America.”
