Day 7
After opening with a strong Rs 15.5 crore, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’ is now seeing a slowdown. Despite hopes of a boost over the weekend, the film’s earnings continued to dip. It made Rs 2.3 crore on Monday and Rs 1.8 crore on Tuesday. As per early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned only Rs 1.25 crore on Wednesday (Day 7), taking the total box office collection to Rs 42.25 crore.
Competition
The slight rise in earnings shows Thug Life still has some hope to bounce back. However, the coming days are crucial, as big releases like ‘Housefull 5’ are performing well, especially in Hindi-speaking regions.
Star-Studded Cast in Thug Life
Directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Kamal Haasan, who also plays the lead, ‘Thug Life’ boasts a power-packed ensemble cast. The film stars Trisha Krishnan, Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Nassar, and Rohit Saraf in important roles.
The Plot
‘Thug Life’ tells the story of Rangaraya Sakthivel, an ageing gangster who sets out on a revenge mission against those who betrayed him — including his own brother, former allies, and a man named Amar. As his need for vengeance grows stronger, the film dives into themes of betrayal, power games, and shifting moral boundaries. One of the most talked-about elements is Sakthivel’s extramarital affair with Indrani (played by Trisha Krishnan), a famous social media influencer.
