Bathwater Bliss: Sydney Sweeney’s bathwater becomes luxe soap sensation
Sydney Sweeney is selling 5,000 bars of soap infused with drops of her actual bathwater in a limited-edition collab with Dr. Squatch, sparking backlash online. While some call it clever marketing, many fans are upset over the objectification of the rising star.

Sydney Sweeney has done a lot of things, starred in Euphoria, stolen scenes in Anyone But You, and pretty much become the internet’s favorite It Girl. But just when you think she couldn’t surprise us more, she goes and launches a soap made from her actual bathwater. The limited-edition soap, cheekily called “Bathwater Bliss,” is part of a quirky and unexpected collab with natural grooming brand Dr. Squatch. And no, this isn’t some gimmick from a late-night comedy sketch. It’s an actual, legit product—and people are losing their minds over it.

    Wait…Her actual bathwater?

Earlier this year, Sydney teamed up with Dr. Squatch for a steamy ad campaign. Picture this: Sweeney lounging in a bathtub full of bubbles, talking all things self-care while promoting their Natural Body Wash. The ad went viral. And fans? Well, they took it to a whole new level—joking (or maybe not joking?) about wanting to buy the water she bathed in.Turns out, Sydney was paying attention. Instead of brushing it off as internet noise, she leaned all the way into it. “Fans always joke about wanting my bathwater,” she told GQ. “So I was like, this is such a cool way to have a conversation with the audience and give them what they want—but also, hopefully encourage them to take care of themselves in a healthy way.”And so, “Bathwater Bliss” was born.

    What’s actually in the soap?

So how do you go from bathwater to bar soap? Here’s the scoop. The team at Dr. Squatch took water from Sydney’s promotional bath shoot, the same one from that viral ad, and used it as an ingredient in the soap. But don’t worry, it’s not just water and wishful thinking. The bar is also made with exfoliating sand and pine bark extract, which give it a fresh, woodsy vibe. The whole idea is to blend Sweeney’s glam with Squatch’s rugged, outdoorsy appeal. It’s weird. It’s wild. And it’s working.Launch details: Mark your calendarsIf you’re even thinking about getting your hands on this soap, set your alarm.

Sydney Sweeney bathwater soap launch date, time

“Bathwater Bliss” drops on Friday, June 6, at 12 p.m. EST, and it’s only available on Dr. Squatch’s website. They’re making just 5,000 bars, so don’t expect it to hang around for long.Oh, and here’s the kicker—100 super lucky buyers will receive a special edition bar that actually contains Sydney’s real bathwater. Like, not just “inspired by,” but literally from her tub.Is it a little over the top? Absolutely. But it’s also Sydney Sweeney, and that’s kind of the point. While the concept is definitely playful (okay, let’s be real—borderline absurd), Sweeney says there’s a deeper intention behind the bubble bath madness. At its core, this is a self-care moment, packaged in the most Sydney Sweeney way possible.“I honestly think it’s a really fun, full-circle moment,” she said in an interview. “This is just such a cool way to connect with people and also promote something positive—taking care of yourself, having a little fun, not taking things too seriously.”

    Marketing genius or pure chaos?

Whatever your take, you’ve got to admit it’s genius marketing. Sydney Sweeney managed to turn an internet joke into an actual product—and got a major brand to roll with it. Dr. Squatch, known for its cheeky ads and natural products, seems like the perfect match for a stunt like this.Whether you’re a die-hard fan, a curious shopper, or just someone who appreciates a good celebrity side hustle, “Bathwater Bliss” is definitely one for the books. Will it sell out instantly? Probably. Will people actually use it or keep it as a novelty? Who knows.Either way, Sydney’s soap is scrubbing away the rules of traditional branding—one sudsy bar at a time.
