Sunny Deol starts the 3rd schedule of 'Border 2' at NDA; Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty join the war drama directed by Anurag Singh

The battalion is back on duty—and this time, the mission is even more ambitious. The third shooting schedule of the highly anticipated war drama Border 2 has officially commenced at the iconic National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. With each passing update, the excitement surrounding the film continues to intensify. Headlining the cast once again is Sunny Deol, who returns to the franchise nearly three decades after his iconic role in the original Border (1997).Taking to Instagram, Sunny shared a powerful image from the set, captioned:“When all ‘Forces’ come together! BORDER 2 – Diljit Dosanjh & Ahan Shetty join Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan as the battalion kicks off the 3rd schedule at Pune’s National Defence Academy! On-ground, they’re joined by Producers Bhushan Kumar & Nidhi Dutta, Director Anurag Singh, Co-producers Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi, as the film moves full throttle!”He also reminded fans to mark their calendars—the film is slated for a grand release on January 23, 2026, just ahead of Republic Day.A Legacy Rekindled‘Border 2’ is far more than just another sequel—it is a continuation of a cinematic legacy rooted in emotion, sacrifice, and patriotism. It picks up the baton from J.P. Dutta’s 1997 cult classic Border, a film that etched the heroic Battle of Longewala into the annals of Indian cinema. With unforgettable performances by Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and Akshaye Khanna, the original remains one of Bollywood’s most revered and emotionally stirring war dramas. The upcoming installment brings together a fresh and dynamic cast—Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty—all joining Deol in what’s being positioned as one of the biggest war sagas in Indian cinema.A Power-Packed Team Behind the CameraDirected by Anurag Singh, known for films like Kesari and Punjab 1984, the project is expected to balance high-octane action with heartfelt storytelling. Backed by producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Films. With its roots deeply embedded in real events and national pride, Border 2 aims to go beyond just spectacle—it promises to be a soul-stirring tribute to India’s armed forces, echoing the sacrifices and courage of soldiers who stand tall in the face of war.The Countdown BeginsAs the third schedule unfolds at the prestigious NDA, Border 2 is shaping up to be a cinematic salute to patriotism, brotherhood, and bravery. The set is abuzz, the cast is in uniform, and the story is ready to unfold. With January 2026 marked as its battlefield debut, Border 2 is not just a film—it’s a call to remember, to honour, and to feel the pulse of a nation once more.
