Sunjay Kapur's Polo club shares his LAST PIC before tragic demise; observe a minute's silence as they play at finals

Days after the tragic passing of industrialist and polo enthusiast Sunjay Kapur, the SUJÁN Indian Tigers Polo Team paid an emotional tribute to their late teammate during the final match of the prestigious Cartier Trophy in England. In a heartfelt post shared on Sunday, the team honoured Kapur with a moment of silence and a touching message, revealing that their captain and patron Jaisal Singh would mount up with the team before stepping aside in a gesture of respect.“Today we play the final of the Cartier Trophy in the memory of our dear friend Sunjay Kapur, who tragically passed away on the field a few days ago,” the team wrote on social media. “Our Captain and Patron, Jaisal Singh, will mount up with the team to observe a minute’s silence in honour of his dear old friend Sunjay, and then sit out as a mark of respect.”The club also shared what is believed to be the final photo of Kapur, taken just moments before the semi-final match alongside Jaisal. The photo saw Sunjay smiling away in his team jersey as he posed with his friend for the picture.Expressing their shock over his demise, the Aureus Polo club honoured his memory in a social media post that read, “The Aureus team are all in total and utter shock. Sunjay – you were the life and soul of the Aureus Team – you were a true inspiration and that legacy will remain forever.”Buenos Aires Polo handle also paid tribute in a post that read, “RIP Sanjay Kapur, May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.”Kapur, 53, died following a heart attack reportedly triggered by a freak incident during his semi-final polo match, where he is believed to have accidentally swallowed a bee. The news of his death was confirmed by business consultant Suhel Seth and later by Sona Comstar, the auto-tech company where Kapur served as Chairman. The automotive company wrote, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Mr. Sunjay J Kapur, Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Sona Comstar, following a sudden heart attack in England, UK, on 12th June 2025, at the age of 53.”They further called him a “visionary leader” who played a pivotal role in shaping Sona Comstar into a global mobility technology company.
