As India lost the 3rd Test at Lord’s by 22 runs, the match also gave birth to several tense moments. From Shubman Gill’s subtle jab on England batters for their slow approach, to an aggressive taunt at their batters for their time-wasting tactics, telling him to “grow some f—ing balls,” the Test at Lord’s had it all.England, too, were not far behind in terms of the same, with Ben Duckett getting back at Gill when he came on to bat in the second innings. The former taunted the India skipper, saying that he won’t be scoring any more after reaching the 600-run mark. While the heated back-and-forths between the two teams have been perceived differently by fans and pundits alike, former England pacer and great Stuart Broad shared his take on the same.Speaking on the same, Broad said, “Ultimately, that’s exactly what top-flight international sport is—it’s country versus country. It obviously needs to be done in the right way; you don’t want physical contact or anything that’s too over the top or looks really ugly on our screens. But I think you want that edge to it. Now, since that’s over, how good has this Test match been?”, speaking on Sky Sports Cricket.Broad did not hesitate to protest the decision to slam Mohammed Siraj with a fine and a demerit point for his passionate celebration after taking the wicket of Ben Duckett. The pacer stared down the batter before bumping him on the shoulder as he expressed his joy at the wicket.

    Poll

Was Mohammed Siraj’s celebration after taking Ben Duckett’s wicket justified?

Broad slammed the decision, arguing that “Players aren’t and shouldn’t be robots” on his X handle. While the heated atmosphere between the two sides certainly added an extra layer of rivalry to the matchup, it remains to be seen how the two sides will strategize and prepare to get the best out of their respective sides. The 4th match of the series will be played at Old Trafford Cricket Ground starting July 23. It is a must-win affair for India if they are to stay alive in the series.
