Steam finally receives the the game-changing free update we’ve been waiting for – Steam

Steam finally receives the the game-changing free update we've been waiting for

    This is HUGE

Thousands of Steam users just got the free update they’ve been waiting for, and it’s about damn time.

Steam is arguably the most comprehensive online video game story on the market, so it’s no wonder Xbox fans want to see it integrated into their consoles…

It combines the very best of PC and console gaming and you can even access it on the go through Valve’s very own portable device, the Steam Deck.

As someone who owns a Steam Deck but doesn’t use it as much as I probably should, I’m pleased to announce that it’s just received a game-changing update, NVIDIA GeForce Now support.

That’s right you can now download the NVIDIA app to your Steam Deck, allowing you to optimise compatible games for your handheld as well access NVIDIA’s suite of gaming tools.

In a blogpost announcing the app launch, NVIDIA said “Steam Deck users can now access over 2,200 supported games on GeForce NOW, including from their Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft, Battle.net and Xbox libraries, with over 180 supported PC Game Pass titles.

Being able to access your Xbox library in particular is a godsend, as while you could access Xbox games through other means they involved jumping through a few hoops, this streamlines the process.

Epic Games Store users will also be pleased to see support included for that storefront as well, especially since it regularly hands out some awesome freebies that’d be great to play on a Steam Deck.

I can personally recommend the app as well, as I recently took my first dive into PC gaming and the GeForce Now made the process of finding and optimising games so much easier.

This will probably make me pick up the Steam Deck more too, especially since you can connect it to a TV if you’d prefer.
