Tottenham Hold Talks Over Thomas Frank as Uncertainty Grows Around Postecoglou’s Future

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held discussions with intermediaries regarding a potential move for Brentford manager Thomas Frank, as doubts continue to surround the future of current head coach Ange Postecoglou.

Since the end of the season, Spurs have been evaluating Postecoglou’s position at the club. Despite delivering Tottenham’s first trophy in 17 years with a Europa League final victory over Manchester United, questions remain after a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Postecoglou’s triumph in Europe brought a renewed sense of optimism among fans, many of whom believe he deserves to continue. However, Tottenham’s 17th-place finish in the league—with just 38 points—has raised concerns at the top, including for chairman Daniel Levy.

Following the final match of the season against Brighton on May 25, Postecoglou admitted he was uncertain about his future, and the club’s continued silence has fueled speculation.

Spurs are said to be seriously considering Thomas Frank, who has impressed with his achievements at Brentford. The Danish manager took over in October 2018 and led the club to Premier League promotion via the 2020–21 playoffs. Under his guidance, Brentford secured a 10th-place finish this past season with 56 points.

While Brentford expect Frank to remain in charge for another season, Tottenham would face several challenges in hiring him—including compensation for both Brentford and Postecoglou, who still has two years remaining on his contract.

The situation remains fluid as Spurs weigh up their managerial options ahead of the new season.
