However, it fell short of surpassing Laal Singh Chaddha (Rs 61.12 crore) and the actor’s acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par (Rs 62.95 crore). The top 5 highest earning Aamir films include Dangal (Rs 374.43 crore), PK (Rs 340.8 crore), Dhoom 3 (Rs 271.07 crore), 3 Idiots (Rs 202.47 crore) and Thugs of Hindostan (Rs 145.55 crore). Meanwhile, the film has also proven to be a landmark moment in Genelia Deshmukh’s career. The actress, who plays a pivotal role in the film, now celebrates her highest-grossing film to date. Sitaare Zameen Par has surpassed the lifetime earnings of her 2008 hit Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, which collected around Rs 55.36 crore at the domestic box office.
