NEW DELHI: Indian pace ace Jasprit Bumrah is back in action ahead of the third Test at Lord’s. He was seen bowling with full intensity in the nets and also shared a light-hearted moment with bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur. Known affectionately as “Lord Thakur” by fans and teammates for his knack for delivering with both bat and ball, Shardul joined Bumrah for a fun exchange during practice. The much-anticipated third Test is scheduled to begin on Thursday at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.India have had success at Lord’s in recent years, winning two of their last three Tests at the venue — in 2014 under MS Dhoni and again in 2021 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. With the five-match series level at 1-1 after India’s commanding 336-run victory at Edgbaston, Bumrah’s return—after being rested due to workload management—is expected to lift the team’s morale even higher. In a video shared by the BCCI on their official X handle, Bumrah was seen bowling at full tilt during the nets session. In between the intense practice, he took a moment to joke about Shardul’s popular nickname.“Yeah dekho, Lord’s, Lord (pointing at Shardul),” said Bumrah, as Shardul responded in jest by bowing to touch his feet.“Tab hi Jasprit Bumrah ke pair padne padte hai,” Thakur said.“Ye inka (Thakur) badappan hai (This is his generosity). Mai inke sath khada hua, wahi mai jeet gaya (I am standing near him, I have won here itself),” Bumrah added with a laugh, continuing the “Lord Thakur” banter.WATCH: After India’s Edgbaston triumph, captain Shubman Gill confirmed that Bumrah would be returning for the Lord’s Test — his second match of the series.

How Jasprit Bumrah is preparing for Lord’s Test – batting, bowling and lot of jokes!

In the first Test, Bumrah shouldered a significant workload. With little support from an inexperienced pace unit, he bowled nearly 44 overs, picking up a five-wicket haul in the first innings, including the crucial scalp of Joe Root. Although he went wicketless in the second innings while defending 371, Bumrah remained relentless throughout.
