Good news if you’re a fan of Frostys and Baconators – Wendy’s is continuing to expand its footprint across the country.
The fast food chain said in a blog post on May 22 it has opened 74 new restaurants around the world so far in 2025, including 28 in the United States. The company previously announced in March its plans to add about 1,000 new restaurants around the world by 2028.
“Using data-driven insights to inform strategic investments in high-potential markets, we’re on a mission to bring Wendy’s fresh, famous food to more customers across the country,” the company wrote in the blog post last week.
“Growth-minded franchisees are key to growing our brand in 2025 and beyond. Every new restaurant opening strengthens the brand, creates opportunity in our communities and builds momentum,” said Abigail Pringle, President, U.S., in the blog post. “We are just getting started.”
Earlier this year, the chain announced the opening of its 500th restaurant in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions and recently opened the first of 200 planned restaurants in Australia. Wendy’s also plans to continue expanding in Europe, with restaurants set to open this year in Romania, Scotland and Ireland, according to a news release earlier this year.
