    Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ editor Shameer Muhammed calls working with S Shankar ‘horrible’; claims he trimmed the 7-hour first cut to 3 hours

    Ram Charan’s much-awaited collaboration with S. Shankar for ‘Game Changer’ earlier this year did not perform well at the theatres, and it also failed to impress both fans and critics. The film, which aimed to be a grand political action drama, was met with negative reviews and an underwhelming response at the box office.Now, editor Shameer Muhammed has shared his experience of working on the project with Shankar.Shameer about Shankar’s working styleIn an interview with Kaumudy Movies, the editor stated, “Working with Shankar sir was a horrible experience. He would fix one date for editing, but he would turn up only after ten days. The same pattern continued for several days, and I ended up staying in Chennai for 300–350 days,” he said.He exited the movie Shameer eventually exited the project after sacrificing multiple other opportunities due to the prolonged schedule. He had to pass on two or three film offers because of the pending work on ‘Game Changer’ and Shankar’s archaic working timeline. Editor Ruben took over the role after Shameer stepped away from the project.

    Game Changers first output was 7.5 hoursAccording to Shameer, the first cut of Game Changer was a staggering 7.5 hours long. He managed to trim it down to three hours, after which Shankar came in and shortened it to 2 hours and 45 minutes.Shameer Muhammed is known for his work in Mollywood. He made his editing debut with Charlie, starring Dulquer Salmaan. His recent projects include notable titles like Ajayante Randam Moshanam, Marco, Rekhachithram, and the ongoing theatrical release Narivetta featuring Tovino Thomas.About ‘Game Changer’ Ram Charan shared the screen with Kiara Advani, Anjali, S J Suryah, Jayaram, and Srikanth in Game Changer.On the work front, Ram Charan is currently busy shooting for his next film, Peddi, with director Buchi Babu Sana. The film also features Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.
