In today’s episode of what is happening on Instagram, we have headlines around Prateek Kaushik, who earlier this year went viral for his reel on the song Aa Ante. Well, according to an Instagram account – lafdamemerr, Prateek allegedly sent inappropriate texts to a minor, and now the chats are going viral all over Instagram and Reddit.

Who is Prateek Kaushik aka Patrick Posts Here?

Known for his humorous lip-syncs and meme-worthy reels, Prateek Kaushik, aka Patrick Posts Here, has made quite the name for himself in India’s creator space. His reels often blend desi wit with Gen Z humour, earning him thousands of followers and several viral moments. But this week, it is not his jokes doing the rounds, it is a full-blown controversy.

Lafda Memer’s explosive allegations against Prateek

The drama began when Instagram’s notorious creator-exposing page Lafda Memer dropped a carousel of screenshots allegedly showing Prateek involved in an inappropriate conversation with a 15-year-old girl. The chats were shared along with a picture, implying it was the creator behind the texts. And of course, the social media lit up instantly.

Soon after, Lafda Memer claimed in their Instagram story that the chats were from March 2025 and took place in “disappear mode”, Instagram’s feature where messages vanish after viewing. They also added that Prateek’s Instagram account is not verified in the chats because when a person subscribes to the verification badge it doesn’t show, and this was the reason the blue tick was missing in the screenshots.

While the accusations shocked many, Prateek’s supporters were quick to rally in his defence. Many pointed out that the screenshots lacked a verification badge, calling the evidence “questionable”. Others argued that the chats looked “edited or faked”, and some even accused Lafda Memer of targeting creators for clout.

In response, Lafda Memer addressed the verification claim, explaining the chat interface was from “disappear mode,” hence no badge appeared. As things heated up and the post went viral, the meme page switched its account from public to private overnight, further fuelling speculation.

    Another allegation against Prateek surfaces

As the controversy exploded, Lafda Memer shared an anonymous email who accused Prateek and his friend Samar of assaulting a girl and taking Rs 25,000 from her. Though the identity of the sender remains unknown, the message sent shockwaves through already fired-up comments in the Comments section.

    Silence from Patrick Posts Here

As of now, Prateek has not issued any statement or clarification regarding the accusations. With social media divided and screenshots spreading rapidly, his silence only adds to the mystery. Supporters wait for answers, while critics demand accountability.

What happens next? Well, for now all eyes are on the feeds.
