Payal Ghosh reveals she finally bought a lavish home in Mumbai worth Rs 4 crore after slut-shaming and rejections: 'I was almost made to feel like I was a criminal...'
Actress Payal Ghosh recently achieved her dream of owning a home in Mumbai after a challenging six-year search. She revealed facing repeated rejections and judgment from housing societies due to her profession. Despite being financially independent, Payal encountered slut-shaming and mistrust, highlighting the stigma faced by women in the film industry.

Payal Ghosh has finally achieved a long-awaited milestone—buying her dream home in Mumbai. But the journey wasn’t easy. In a candid revelation, she opened up about facing years of rejections, judgment, and slut-shaming from housing societies, simply because of her profession in the film industry.Reflecting on her first major property purchase in Mumbai, Payal told Bollywood Bubble that owning a home in the city after years of living there felt incredibly special. Despite having the financial means, she revealed it took her six years to finally find and secure an apartment, making the milestone all the more meaningful. She also highlighted the lesser-spoken reality of Mumbai’s glamorous image, pointing out the judgment she faced as an independent woman in the entertainment industry. Despite being financially self-sufficient, she shared that certain housing societies refused to accept her solely because she was an actress, reflecting the persistent stigma attached to her profession. The actress further recounted a troubling experience during her house-hunting journey in Mumbai. Despite being an independent, self-made woman, she faced repeated rejections solely due to her profession. She shared that many people were quick to judge and slut-shame women from the film industry, generalizing them unfairly and refusing to trust her simply because she was an actress. In conclusion, Payal shared how the repeated rejections made her question herself, as she was made to feel like an outsider simply because of her profession. However, she finally found a seller who looked beyond her identity as an actress and agreed to the deal. Calling it a life-changing and dream-come-true moment, she expressed gratitude to God, her fans, and well-wishers for their constant support.
