Nagpur’s Sunita Jamgade at a police station in Attari.

NAGPUR/AMRITSAR: A Nagpur-based woman who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) at Kargil earlier this month and was repatriated later, is being escorted back to the city by a four-member police team, including two women constables. However, her reunion with family may be delayed as authorities plan to investigate her potential involvement in espionage and may even arrest her.Sunita Bholeshwar Jamgade (43) had gone missing from Hunderman village near LoC in Kargil on May 14, leaving her 14-year-old son in a hotel. She was arrested in Pakistan and was handed over to BSF during a flag meeting at the Attari-Wagah border crossing point on May 23.On Tuesday, she was handed over to the Nagpur police team. Prior to that, Amritsar rural police registered a zero FIR against her under the Official Secrets Act, which relates to espionage, and transferred the case to their Nagpur counterparts.According to SHO Amandeep Singh of Gharinda police station in Amritsar, Sunita was in contact with two people in Pakistan and had crossed the border with the intention of meeting them.
