Mumtaz made an amazing on-screen pair with Rajesh Khanna and another actress whose on-screen pairing with Khanna was hugely loved was Sharmila Tagore. Thus, there were several reports of catfights between Mumtaz and Sharmila. People said that they did not get along with each other. Mumtaz has steered clear on this. In a recent interview, she clearly spoke about Tagore.She said in an interview with Filmybeat, “Main Sharmila Tagore ko mili hi nahi hu. Aap bechari Sharmila aur Mumtaz ke peeche joh pade hai. I want to ask everyone who wrote these things that aapko aisa kaunsa mauqa mila tha jisse aapko lagaa unki banti nahi thi. Whenever we meet, we say, ‘Hello How are you?’ Main jaati nahi hu har party mein. I would request people who say all this, why do you say Mumtaz and Sharmila didn’t get along? Show me one reason. Sab jhooth bolte hai. (I had never met Sharmila earlier. Now we rarely see each other at some event and we greet each other. I want to ask people who wrote all these things that please give me one single reason that made you feel that Mumtaz and Sharmila didn’t get along.
