After completing aviation training at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (National Flying Academy) in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, he worked as a commercial pilot for nearly a decade. He even ran an aeronautical training institute in Delhi, helping to shape young aviation professionals. However, Mukul eventually pivoted fully to acting, building a multifaceted career in Hindi, Punjabi, and South Indian cinema as well as television.
