Ed Sheeran, captivated by Arijit Singh’s voice after hearing ‘Tum Hi Ho,’ collaborated on ‘Sapphire,’ traveling to Singh’s hometown in West Bengal. Sheeran, accompanied by his father, immersed himself in the local culture, learning Punjabi and experiencing a scenic barge ride. He hailed Singh as incredibly talented, with fans anticipating the full Punjabi version of ‘Sapphire’ and behind-the-scenes clips.

Ed Sheeran was captivated by Arijit Singh’s voice long before their ‘Sapphire’ collaboration, specifically recalling being spellbound by the Bollywood ballad ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from Aashiqui 2. Now, following the release of their new joint single, the English singer-songwriter has shared a heartfelt tribute to the Indian maestro, detailing their deeply personal journey to finalize ‘Sapphire’ in West Bengal, a trip that included a unique cultural exchange and even a lesson in Punjabi from Singh himself.Check out the post here:“I first became aware of Arijit Singh’s music when I watched Aashiqui 2 and heard Tum Hi Ho. I was proper spellbound by his voice, the song, the scene in the movie,” he shared. The musical collaboration between Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh took a profoundly personal turn when Sheeran chose to visit Singh’s hometown. Sheeran expressed his desire to finalize their joint single, ‘Sapphire,’ in person, to which Singh extended a warm invitation for Sheeran to experience his home and culture. The collaboration on “Sapphire” took Ed Sheeran on a deeply personal journey to Arijit Singh’s hometown. Accompanied by his father, making the trip even more meaningful, Sheeran flew to Kolkata. From there, a long drive led them to Singh’s home, where their visit was filled with unique experiences. They enjoyed a scenic barge ride, took a scooty trip to the studio, and fully immersed themselves in the local culture.Recounting the experience, Ed noted, “Arijit taught me Punjabi and how to pronounce it all properly, and showed me sitar. We then had dinner, and scooted around the village to see the sunset and moon with my dad. It was a proper core memory I’ll always cherish with my father, and I’m honoured to have created in this way with Arijit.”Ed Sheeran has hailed Arijit Singh as “one of the most talented humans I’ve ever met,” expressing profound gratitude for their collaboration on the new single, “Sapphire.” Fans can anticipate the release of the full Punjabi version of “Sapphire” in the coming weeks, with Sheeran also promising to share more behind-the-scenes clips of their creative journey.Adding to the excitement surrounding “Sapphire,” fans were thrilled to spot Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan in the music video. Ed Sheeran playfully remarked, “love that guy,” acknowledging Khan’s appearance. Sheeran further emphasized Arijit Singh’s pivotal role in the collaboration, referring to him as “the final jigsaw piece” of the song.
