NEW DELHI: The country is witnessing widespread monsoon activity across several regions, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing red, orange, and yellow alerts across states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, strong winds, and rising flood risks have put local administrations on high alert.Delhi under ‘yellow’ alert for May 30–31The IMD has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Delhi on May 30, warning of light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–60 kmph. These conditions are expected to continue through May 31, although with slightly reduced intensity.The department also forecast that daytime temperatures will remain below normal, bringing relief from the heat.“The spell of rain and thunderstorms is likely to continue. These weather episodes will keep the mercury in check, so day temperatures are expected to remain normal on most days.
