Prosecutors alleged Read hit O’Keefe with her SUV in January 2022. Many gathered outside Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts, ahead of the verdict and remained steadfast throughout the retrial.
“I’m feeling overwhelmed, like this is unbelievable. We’ve been waiting two, three years for this, and finally justice has prevailed. It’s a great feeling,” said another supporter.
Supporters used the American Sign Language gesture for “I love you” as Read and her legal team entered or left the courthouse.
