Kalpika Ganesh shares video of birthday clash at Hyderabad pub; netizen says she demanded 'free cake'

Telugu actress Kalpika Ganesh recently shared a video of her birthday celebration at a popular Hyderabad pub turning into a distressing ordeal after a dispute with the management. While Kalpika claimed she was denied dignity and respect, many netizens alleged she was demanding a free cake and intentionally created a scene. The incident took place at a popular restaurant in Gachibowli, where Kalpika had gone to celebrate her special day with friends, including a physically disabled companion. According to Kalpika, the pub staff refused to allow her to bring a birthday cake as a birthday courtesy. The staff instead offered her a brownie which she felt was thrown on the table disrespectfully. This led to a heated argument captured in a video she later shared on Instagram.Tense exchange captured on videoA short video of the altercation between Kalpika Ganesh and the pub management is available on her Instagram feed, capturing the tense exchange between the two parties. In the clip, Kalpika can be heard firmly warning the staff that she will make sure they lose respect, expressing her frustration. Meanwhile, the management asked her to pay the bill and advised her not to spoil her birthday over the issue. They also accuse her of creating a scene deliberately to avoid paying the bill. In a moment of anger, Kalpika crumples the bill and throws it away after criticizing the pub staff for their mismanagement.Kalpika further alleged that when she called the Gachibowli police for help, the officers treated her like a criminal and sided with the pub management. She shared a note on Instagram that her issue was not about the cake but about being denied dignity and respect. The actress also posted a longer 40-minute video showing the full altercation, where she claimed the staff made derogatory remarks about her clothing, family, and identity, including calling her a ‘druggist.’Social media reactsThe incident has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Many users criticized Kalpika for demanding a ‘free cake’, arguing that businesses are not obligated to offer complimentary items and that customers should respect the policies of establishments. Some comments accused her of entitlement and seeking attention by posting selective videos online. Others expressed sympathy for her, condemning the alleged mistreatment and poor police response.
