Kajol opens up about marriage with Ajay Devgn: ‘We’re not civilised, we call each other out’

Kajol, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actresses known for her stellar performances and box-office hits, recently opened up about her marriage with Ajay Devgn, parenting, and how they navigate working in the same industry, sometimes even in the same film.In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kajol got candid about the dynamics of their relationship, both personal and professional. She admitted that being in the same industry and occasionally working on the same films comes with its share of disagreements, but the couple has developed their own unique ‘rules of engagement’.‘We’re not civilised… we call each other out’Sharing how they manage creative differences, Kajol said, “90% of the time if he is going over the top, I just call him out on it and he calls me out on it. We are not civilised and we will not take it to the corner. But it does not happen very often, we don’t work that often together, we work once in five years.”

At a recent promotional event for their upcoming film Maa, Kajol was asked about working with Ajay Devgn as a producer. In true Kajol fashion, she responded with humour, “What should I say about this producer? Mujhe bohot harass aur tang kiya hai isne (He harassed and troubled me a lot). No one will believe it (laughs).”She then quickly clarified with a smile, “No. He was quite a wonderful producer. I have to say that about him.”Kajol’s first horror role in MaaSet to release on June 27, Maa marks Kajol’s first foray into the horror genre. Directed by Vishal Furia, the mythical horror film follows a mother who goes to terrifying lengths to protect her child from dark, supernatural forces. Kajol takes on a bold new avatar in this film, which also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and others.
