'Kaanta Laga’ makers confirm they will NEVER make a sequel to the song after Shefali Jariwala’s demise: ‘It was always yours’

Shefali Jariwala’s sudden demise has shocked not only her fans but also the entire industry. The actor and dancer, who rose to fame with the song ‘Kaanta Laga’, passed away on 27 June after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was just 42.Now, Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the directors who made the hit music video that turned Shefali into a star, have paid an emotional tribute to her, making it clear that ‘Kaanta Laga’ will never have a sequel.‘We’re retiring Kaanta Laga’Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Radhika and Vinay shared a heartfelt message along with a nostalgic photo from their early days with Shefali. They wrote,“Yesterday Was The Prayer Meeting. Saying The Final Goodbyes… With Our First Photo Session Together.. ‘Kaanta Laga’ – CD Inlay Card.”The director duo looked back at their memories of shooting the 2002 video and explained why there will never be another ‘Kaanta Laga’ girl. They said, “You Always Said You Wanted To Be The One And Only ‘Kaanta Laga’ Girl. So We Never Made A Sequel — And We Never Will. We’re Retiring ‘Kaanta Laga’ Forever. It Was Always Yours. It Will Always Be Yours… Shefali…RIP.”How they found ShefaliEarlier, the directors had told ANI the beautiful story of how they first came across Shefali. Vinay shared, “We started our journey together. Radhika and I were driving on Linking Road in Bandra, and we were passing through a forest. We saw this young girl hugging her mother while crossing on a scooter. As we were driving by, Radhika thought she was very special. So we stopped and asked her if she would come to our office. And the journey started from there.”What happened to ShefaliLast Friday night, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi. She had reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. Sadly, she was declared brought in after she had already passed away. The Mumbai Police then sent her body for a post-mortem to find the exact cause of her demise. After the examination, officials revealed that the cause of her demise had been ‘reserved’. Her last rites took place on last Saturday, attended by many from the film and TV world, all gathered to say their final goodbyes.‘Kaanta Laga’ became a sensation when it was released in 2002. Shefali Jariwala was forever remembered as the original ‘Kaanta Laga’ girl. The directors’ latest message proves just how much she meant to them.
