The Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal drama is reportedly far from over after a judge dismissed the director’s $400 million lawsuit. The actor and director Justin Baldoni is reportedly unhappy with the recent court ruling against his ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds.Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, addressed the decision during an appearance on TMZ Live Tuesday, stating, “What was Justin’s reaction? The same as mine — it’s not fair. It’s not right.”The legal dispute began in December 2024, with Blake accusing Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, of sexual harassment and running a smear campaign. In response, Baldoni and Wayfarer filed a $400 million defamation countersuit, which US District Court Judge Lewis J Liman dismissed on June 9, citing legal protections around statements made in lawsuits.Judge Liman’s ruling also dismissed a separate $250 million libel lawsuit filed by Baldoni against The New York Times for its reporting on Lively’s claims. However, the court granted Baldoni’s legal team until June 23 to amend their lawsuit on specific claims related to breach of contract and tortious interference. With the latest twist to this legal saga, Freedman insisted the fight is far from over saying, “He [Baldoni] wants to be vindicated, and that’s all that he cares about. He knows the truth, and he wants the truth to come out in the appropriate way. He’s waiting for his day in court.”Freedman added that the legal team plans to move forward with the case, beginning with a deposition of Blake Lively scheduled for later this month. “We’re going to show there was no sexual harassment, no smear campaign. It’s unfortunate to be wrongfully accused,” he said, while also claiming Lively is “afraid of the truth.”On the same day, Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, appeared on CNN and reiterated the actress’s resolve. “Blake is determined to see her claims through and pursue a full public accountability of what she’s alleged happened to her,” he told host Jake Tapper.
