In a social media post Thursday, the head of the Massachusetts State Police extended condolences to O’Keefe’s loved ones and reiterated the department’s commitment to improvement.
“Our focus remains on delivering excellent police services that reflect the value of professionalism and maintain public trust,” the post said.
Jason, juror No. 4 in the retrial, also spoke out in an interview with TMZ.
He said he believes Read is innocent and doesn’t think her SUV hit O’Keefe.
“I mean, I can only speak for myself, there was a lot of things thrown at us, it’s hard to tell, what truly,” Jason said.
When asked what changed the minds of jurors who initially thought Read was guilty, Jason pointed to reasonable doubt and said there were “too many holes” in the investigation.
While Jason believes police could have done things differently, he said he doesn’t think the police investigation was corrupt.
