    Javed Akhtar lauds box office leap of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par: ‘Who says good films have no takers?’

    Veteran screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar took to Twitter to express his admiration for Aamir Khan’s latest release Sitaare Zameen Par, which has shown remarkable growth at the box office since its release on June 20, 2025. In a heartfelt post shared on June 22, Akhtar applauded the film’s upward trajectory and its resonance with audiences.“So happy to learn about the record leap that Sitaare Zameen Par has taken at the box office on the second day. Who says good films have no takers in the audience. Congratulations to Aamir Khan and his team,” he wrote.Sitaare Zameen Par box office collectionAfter opening to a respectable Rs 10.7 crore on Friday, the film saw a significant jump on Saturday, collecting Rs 20.2 crore. The positive trend continued on Sunday with an impressive Rs 29 crore, bringing the film’s three-day total to Rs 59.90 crore. With strong word-of-mouth and growing audience interest, Sitaare Zameen Par is shaping up to be a major success for Aamir Khan, marking a powerful return to form.

    A spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen ParDirected by R.S. Prasanna and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film is being hailed as a spiritual sequel to Aamir’s critically acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. While the earlier film focused on learning disabilities and a teacher’s bond with a dyslexic child, Sitaare Zameen Par explores themes of inclusivity, self-worth, and empowerment with a new generation of young protagonists.The film stars Aamir Khan alongside Genelia Deshmukh and a talented ensemble cast including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
