Jasprit Bumrah, who didn’t play the second Test match at Edgbaston, was having a blast from the sidelines. In a video posted by the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, India’s spearhead was seen trolling his captain Shubman Gill.On Day 5, captain Shubman Gill was seen rolling his arm over before the start of the day’s play.Bumrah, after watching Gill bowl, said: “Cut pe cut kha raha tha World Cup mein (He was continuously being cut by the batter in the ODI World Cup).”Bumrah was referring to the 2023 ODI World Cup, where in a group match against the Netherlands, Rohit Sharma had thrown the ball to Shubman Gill.Gill had bowled two overs without taking any wicket. His bowling figures read: 2-0-11-0.“Yaad hai tereko 2023 mein daali thi Netherlands ke saamne (Remember, you bowled against the Netherlands in 2023),” Bumrah asked one of the teammate.“Ban hi ho gaya uske baad (He was banned after bowling that),” said Bumrah.Bumrah didn’t play the second Test due to workload management, and captain Gill had made it clear that he would be back in the playing XI at Lord’s.

‘Any attack of ours can take 20 wickets anywhere’: Shubman Gill hails Mohd Siraj, Akash Deep after historic Edgbaston win

At the post-match presentation, former England captain Nasser Hussain had asked Shubman: “Bumrah back at Lord’s?” Bumrah answered in just one word: “Definitely.”India had levelled the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 1-1 after hammering England by 337 runs at Edgbaston. England had won the first Test at Headingley by five wickets. The third Test between the two teams will start on Thursday at Lord’s, and Team India’s captain can’t wait to play at the historic venue.“No bigger honour than to captain your country in a Test match at Lord’s,” he said.
