In addition to the fine, one demerit point has been added to Rawal’s disciplinary record. It was her first offence within a 24-month period.

Meanwhile, the England team was fined five percent of their match fee for a slow over rate, found to be one over short after time allowances were taken into account. England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt accepted the sanction, avoiding the need for a formal hearing. Both Rawal and Sciver-Brunt accepted the penalties handed down by match referee Sarah Bartlett. The on-field tension came during a tightly contested series opener at Old Trafford, where India clinched a hard-fought win. England posted 258/6, riding on Sophia Dunkley’s 83 and a fifty from Alice Davidson-Richards.India overcame a middle-order wobble, thanks to a composed 62 from Deepti Sharma, supported by Jemimah Rodrigues (48) and Amanjot Kaur (20), to seal the match by 4 wickets and take a 1-0 series lead.
