IND vs ENG 3rd Test: ‘Aage aa ja ...': Jasprit Bumrah's warning ignored as India miss early chances at Lord's

Jasprit Bumrah made a fiery return to India’s playing XI in the third Test against England at Lord’s, but his early warning to the slip cordon went unheeded – and India paid the price.Live Score: India vs England, 3rd TestOn just the fourth ball of England’s innings, Bumrah induced a sharp outside edge from Ben Duckett. The ball, however, died just short of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who dived low to his left but couldn’t get his gloves under it. Bumrah instantly turned to Pant and the slips and was heard on the stump mic urging: “Aage aa ja, ball carry nahi kar raha hai, soft hai” (Come forward, the ball is not carrying).Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. The most notable came in the 14th over when skipper Shubman Gill dropped Ollie Pope at gully, diving to his right but only managing to parry the ball to the turf. Just an over later, Pope survived again after edging one from Mohammed Siraj that fell inches short of KL Rahul at second slip.

What Sachin Tendulkar said on not having a century at Lord’s

England, who could have been three down before lunch, ended the first session at 83 for 2 thanks to Nitish Kumar Reddy’s double breakthrough in one over – removing Duckett and Zak Crawley.By tea, England had reached 153 for 2, with Joe Root (54*) and Ollie Pope (44*) steadying the innings. Root’s composed half-century – his 67th in Tests – helped rebuild after early jitters.India’s only change for the Test was Bumrah replacing Prasidh Krishna, while England brought back Jofra Archer. But the morning’s biggest talking point was India’s missed chances – and Bumrah’s early plea that went unheard.
