IND vs ENG 3rd Test: '600 runs and he is done... ' - Ben Duckett takes a jibe at Shubman Gill on Day 4 at Lord's

As the five-match Test series between India and England hangs in the balance, it is safe to say that tensions have boiled over. Among both Indian and English stars, there have been numerous back-and-forths, with either side trying their best to get on the nerves of their opponents and gain an advantage in the process. If it was Shubman Gill who previously went viral for labelling England’s brand of batting as “boring” after their slow and cautious approach in the first innings, the English squad responded with tenacity when it was their turn to bat. Coming out to bat for India in the second innings, the captain found himself in hostile territory. A cheeky comment aimed at the skipper was caught on the stump mic, which immediately went viral on social media. In an effort to unsettle the skipper, England opener Ben Duckett unleashed a subtle jab at Gill:“600 runs and he is done for the series. 600 runs is enough for this fella.”However, Duckett’s comment did not provoke a reaction from Gill, who maintained his composure at the crease. Still, despite his calm exterior, Gill was forced to walk back to the pavilion after scoring just six runs off nine balls. His lbw dismissal by Brydon Carse marked a rare low point in the series, after he had amassed a combined 585 runs across the first two Tests. The 3rd Test, however, saw him score just 22 runs over both innings — an underwhelming return given his record-breaking start to life as India’s Test captain.

Rishabh Pant is India’s TRUMP CARD in tense chase vs England at Lord’s

With the series perfectly poised at 1-1, a fierce battle is expected on Day 5, as the English bowling attack looks to grab early wickets and derail India’s push for a second win. The Lord’s Test has already produced several fiery moments across the four days, with Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill at the forefront.Earlier in the match, India were furious with Zak Crawley’s alleged time-wasting tactics, prompting captain Shubman Gill to tell him to “grow some f—ing balls.”
