'If you're going to..' – Here's what Sussanne Khan told Hrithik Roshan, before his on-screen kissing scene with Aishwarya Rai in ‘Dhoom 2’

Back in 2006, Bollywood was abuzz with the release of ‘Dhoom 2’ – a high-octane action thriller packed with daring stunts, slick visuals, and an ensemble including Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. But beyond its adrenaline-pumping chases and chart-topping music, the film became the centre of a heated controversy — all because of one on-screen kiss. This kiss caused quite a stir, and Hrithik once shared a funny story about what his then-wife, Sussanne Khan, told him before filming that scene.Sussanne’s one conditionFor many viewers, it was unexpected, and became the talking point of the year. But what did Hrithik’s then-wife, Sussanne Khan, think of the scene before he shot it? In an old interview with Headlines Today, Hrithik opened up about it.He said, “My wife had laid down only one condition – ‘If you’re going to kiss on screen, this better be the best bloody kiss in the entire world!’ That was her only pre-condition. And it was a challenge I had to live up to!” It was a cheeky but supportive statement from Sussanne.Aishwarya faced trouble after the sceneWhile Hrithik saw the kiss as a fun challenge, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan faced a very different situation. In a 2012 interview with Daily Mail, she shared how the scene led to real-life issues, including legal notices. She said, “I did it once prominently in the movie Dhoom and it was so topical, and you’ll be surprised, I mean I actually got a couple of notices, legal notices, from some people in the country turning around and saying ‘You are iconic, you’re an example to our girls you have led your life in such an exemplary manner, they’re not comfortable with you doing this on screen so why did you?’”‘Dhoom 2’: A blockbuster hit‘Dhoom 2’, directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, became a trendsetter in Bollywood. Known for its action-packed scenes, stylish looks, and thrilling storyline, the film featured a star-studded cast including Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, and Uday Chopra.
