India’s young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who became the youngest T20 centurion in IPL 2025 with the second-fastest century against Gujarat Titans a couple of months ago, has now set another world record. The 14-year-old achieved the fastest hundred in Youth ODIs, scoring a 52-ball century against England U19 on Saturday.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!The teenage cricketer has already set his sights on his next achievement. He aims to score a double-century in the upcoming match scheduled for July 7 in Worcester.“I will try to score 200 next time. I’ll try to play all 50 overs because the more runs I score, the more my team will benefit,” Suryavanshi said in a video posted by BCCI.The young batter, attending the Test match in Birmingham, found inspiration in Test captain Shubman Gill’s historic innings at Edgbaston, where Gill scored 269, the highest score ever by an Indian captain. However, Suryavanshi, when asked, was unaware that he had broken the record for the fastest Youth ODI century.“I didn’t know I had made a record. Team manager Ankit sir told me that I have… I was very inspired by him [Shubman Gill] because I saw the game,” he said.“Even after scoring 100 and 200, he kept at it and took the game forward. So, I also had it in mind that I could have batted for longer because there was a lot of time, 20 overs were left. I could have extended my innings but there was a shot that I couldn’t connect 100% which is why I got out; otherwise, I would have tried to bat as long as him.”
