After a successful box office run, Nani’s much-awaited investigative thriller ‘Hit: The Third Case’ has finally arrived on OTT. The third installment in the popular ‘HIT’ franchise began streaming on Netflix India on May 29, making it available in five languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.Nani took to his Instagram handle to share a new poster from the film a penned a note that read, “He’s Arjun for the loved ones and Sarkaar for the criminals Watch HIT: The Third Case, out 29 May, on Netflix in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.”

A new chapter in the ‘HIT’ universe

‘Hit: The Third Case’ marks another gripping entry in the ‘HIT’ series, known for its intense crime stories and layered police investigations. In this film, Nani takes on the role of SP Arjun Sarkaar, a sharp and determined officer tasked with solving a string of murders that follow a similar modus operandi across the country. Alongside him, Srinidhi Shetty plays Mrudula, his love interest, adding emotional depth to the high-stakes narrative. The antagonist, Alpha, is played by Prateik Smita Patil, delivering a menacing performance that heightens the film’s dark and suspenseful tone.

    Box office success

The film’s OTT debut follows a stellar performance in theaters, where it has grossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide. This makes ‘Hit: The Third Case’ the first film in the franchise to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark, cementing its status as a commercial hit. The ‘HIT’ series has consistently expanded its cinematic universe, with each installment introducing new lead investigators and complex cases. Fans can now look forward to the upcoming ‘Hit 4’, which will star Karthi as ACP Veerappan, promising yet another thrilling ride.

    Critical reception

Critics have praised ‘Hit: The Third Case’ for its gritty narrative and unflinching portrayal of crime. ETimes called it “a well-mounted, hard-hitting thriller that firmly establishes Nani in the crime-action genre,” though our review noted that its intensity and disturbing visuals may not suit all audiences. For fans of dark, edgy thrillers, however, the film promises a gripping experience.
