NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill etched his name into Indian cricketing history on Sunday, becoming the youngest Indian captain to win a Test match overseas, leading his team to a record-breaking 336-run win against England in the second Test at Edgbaston. At 25 years and 301 days, Gill surpassed Sunil Gavaskar’s long-standing record set in 1976 in Auckland. Speaking after the win, a composed yet proud Gill said, “Especially when you are the captain, I think you need to lead by example… so whenever there is another player in that situation, you can tell that player, this is what the team requires right now.”He added, “If a good ball gets me out, it gets me out.
