Tom Felton, the fan-favourite Draco Malfoy, has reprised his role as the iconic character in Broadway’s ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ with white blonde lushious hair, a sleek black outfit, the esteemed wand, and a classic manipulative smirk on his face.
J.K Rowling’s views are…not been attuned
The fanbase seems to be divided over the joy of Tom Felton’s return to the Harry Potter series, and the reason is the controversial author of the series, J.K. Rowling. There has been a public debate over Rowling’s views on the LGBTQ+ community, and while the Harry Potter brand hasn’t been affected much, a few fans can’t overlook that the legendary series has been tainted by her views.

When asked about Felton’s work being affected by the 59-year-old author, he stated, “No, I can’t say it does. I’m not really that attuned.” “The only thing I always remind myself is that I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world. Here I am in New York. And I have not seen anything bring the world together more than Potter, and she’s responsible for that. So I’m incredibly grateful,” he added, according to Variety. Furthermore, the 37-year-old actor said that everyone thought the flame of Harry Potter would slowly douse over the years, but it has not. “I think the most exciting part is to do it live. It took nine months, more or less, to shoot a film. And this is all compact. This is all reimagined into a very lovely, new, tight story. And I get to be a dad, which has been fun,” he further added.
About the Broadway
As for the Broadway show, the play will make its debut in the Lyric Theatre in New York City. With its limited time, the shows will commence on November 11, 2025, and end on March 22, 2026, running for 19 weeks. The show is written by Jack Thorne, and Felton is the only original cast member from the franchise to return in the Harry Potter universe.
