Deepika Padukone is set to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. As the actress is making India proud with this honour, it also sparked a debate online and gathered mixed reactions. There have been people who questioned Deepika getting this honour, thus argued that many other actors like Irrfan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra were more deserving.Actress Freida Pinto has now defended Deepika. She urged everyone to encourage her achievement than actually questioning it. She reacted to a post which read, “Some fans were confused by the news. #PriyankaChopra, #AishwaryaRai, and #IrrfanKhan have starred in more Hollywood movies, but don’t have stars (yet). Padukone’s only Hollywood production was #XXX: Return of Xander Cage (2017). Others point to Padukone’s global stature. She is a brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton and Cartier, unveiled the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy, and was a Cannes Film Festival jury member.”She re-shared this post and wrote, “To my fellow South Asians- Let’s celebrate our own and not bring them down please. According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame guidelines, she now has two years to schedule the installation ceremony. The recipient has up to two years to schedule their ceremony. If it is not done within the two-year period, it will expire, and an application must be resubmitted,” the website states.“
